We shall arrange a day tour to Köycegiz -Dalyan-Kaunos on 13 th September 2007. Some information is available at the web site of the tour company www.acemp07.com. This tour can be booked during the meeting. Those who wish shall return to Bodrum after the tour. The price is likely to be between 40€ to 65 €. We are working on the price.
 
For those who wish, we shall continue to Akkaya Village on the evening of 13th September. A limited number of rooms are reserved at a very nice small hotel (by the beach).

We plan to stay there until the 16th of September. Those who wish to leave earlier can do so. We shall arange transportation to Bodrum airport.

 

 



A vast green area with unique properties
Dalyan is a very popular small town not spoiled by buildings. The wonderful 7 kilometers sandy Iztuzu Beach, which is accessible by a 45 minutes boat trip, is one of the last nesting areas for the Caretta caretta, Sea Turtles. Between May and September, the female turtles come to the beach to lay their eggs, to keep check on them from time to time and finally to take their babies to the sea.
A 15 minutes' boat trip will take you to the sulfur bath which is a different experience for many people visiting the city. The mud containing sulfur and other elements is said to be good for skin conditions and makes you feel refreshed and revitalized. Also there is a small spa where you can just relax. Caunos, the ancient city near modern Dalyan, was founded around the 9th century BC. Once it was a Mediterranean city port, but over the centuries the silt from the Dalyan River choked the harbor and today the town lies several kilometers from the sea.

IDEAL TOUR PROGRAM

Dalyan is 205 kilometers from Bodrum. An approximately three hours' journey through forests, beautiful bays and typical Turkish villages will take you to this extra ordinary place.


07:00 Leave from Hotel for Dalyan tour
09:00 Stop for an open-buffet breakfast and the wonderful scenery of the Gokova Bay.
10:30 Leave the vehicle, arrive at Iztuzu Beach after a 45 minute boat trip on the river and return by boat for lunch.
14:00 Have a very tasty lunch at a nice restaurant.
15:00 Depart for a 15 minute boat trip to the mud bath and spa.
16:30 Leave for Akyaka or Bodrum.
